Our Purpose

Hope for Zimbabwe Children (HFZC) Trust is dedicated to supplementing government efforts in alleviating social ills and filling the gaps created by the critical deterioration of health and social services in Zimbabwe. The ongoing economic challenges and social crises in the country have led to immense humanitarian needs, with the demand for health and social services far exceeding the available supply. Given the limited resources, HFZC’s role is crucial and highly sought after to provide meaningful humanitarian support. Hope for Zimbabwe Children is steadfast in its purpose, striving to make a meaningful impact on the lives of vulnerable populations in Zimbabwe. 1. Purpose and Objectives: HFZC’s purpose is to alleviate social ills and fill service gaps through targeted humanitarian interventions. We provide essential health and social services to those in need of assistance. We support the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by acting as a development partner. We promote self-reliance through income-generating projects and sustainable initiatives.

2. Challenges and Strategies: Despite facing numerous challenges, such as inadequate government support and insufficient community and business involvement, HFZC remains committed to its purpose. To address these issues, we focus on, mobilizing resources for financial sustainability through partnerships, grants, and community engagement. We develop effective communication strategies for better decision-making and program implementation. We innovate and improve staff competencies to enhance service delivery. We robustly market HFZC’s activities to build a strong organizational image.

3. Financial Sustainability: The reliance on donor funding presents a risk to HFZC’s projects. We recognize the urgency of mobilizing additional donors and finding innovative ways to achieve financial self-sustainability. This includes the establishment of income-generating projects that align with our core objectives and the commercialization of certain HFZC activities.

4. Community Engagement and Participation: At HFZC, we believe in the power of community involvement. We actively engage community members at all stages of program development, from planning to evaluation. By incorporating input from local populations, we ensure that our initiatives are relevant and responsive to their needs. This approach not only enhances the effectiveness of our programs but also strengthens community ownership and support.

Commitment to Rights-Based Approaches: In our programming, we align our efforts with the African Charter on the Rights of the Child, ensuring that the rights and welfare of children remain at the forefront of our mission. This shortage of services provides HFZC an opportunity to complement existing efforts in the country and act as a development partner, contributing to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

  • Resource Mobilization: Securing financial sustainability by mobilizing resources from donors, national, regional, and international organizations, and exploring income-generating projects.

  • Strategic Planning and Communication: Developing and implementing an effective strategic plan and communication strategy to facilitate decision-making and program implementation.

  • Competency Development: Enhancing staff skills and competencies to improve service delivery.
