5. SELMAR: 5 YEARS

Selmar is a 5-year-old orphan from Zimbabwe living with skin cancer. Her condition, first diagnosed when she was only 18 months old, has progressively worsened due to a lack of medical care and the family’s impoverished situation. Cancerous lumps have formed on her head, requiring urgent medical attention. In December 2020, a well-wisher who encountered Selmar and her grandmother, Gogo Gazimbi, referred them to Hope for Zimbabwe Children (HFZC) for assistance. The organization, which focuses on supporting vulnerable children, stepped in to help. Another well-wisher, Ruramai, also contributed by donating $20 to support Selmar and her grandmother with the costs associated with her care.HFZC continues to provide assistance to children like Selmar, offering medical, financial, and moral support to ensure they have a chance to live and thrive despite difficult circumstances.
